“Texans deserve elected officials who show up to work and do the job they were duly elected to do. I strongly condemn the Texas Democrats who fled the state to prevent us from accomplishing the work that the people of Texas expect us to get done. Governor Abbott put a number of critical conservative priorities on the special session including election integrity, property tax relief, border security, protecting women’s sports, eliminating critical race theory from schools and increasing teacher pay. Instead of working on those important issues, Democrats chose to flee Texas on private planes, drinking beer, not wearing masks that they force on the rest of us and taking a taxpayer paid vacation to take refuge in the swamp. Democrats have abandoned their constituents, abdicated their responsibility and have failed Texas. They should immediately return to Texas to pass the priorities that the people of Texas have demanded. ” – State Rep. Tom Oliverson.
