Friends,
The 89th Legislative Session has officially come to a close—and I’m proud to report that we delivered a slate of real conservative victories that put Texas families first.
From expanding educational freedom and defending parental rights to strengthening public health and protecting our communities from crime and drugs, this session was focused on one thing: results that matter to Texans.
Legislative Wins

✅ The DOCTOR Act – Sent to the Governor!
As a physician, I know firsthand the challenges of a strained healthcare system. That’s why I authored the DOCTOR Act (HB 2038), which cuts red tape to allow qualified professionals to fill labor shortages. By increasing the number of physicians, this bill helps expand healthcare access—without raising costs.
✅ Parental Rights – Sent to the Governor!
SB 12 reaffirms a fundamental truth: parents, not woke teachers, should guide their children’s education and upbringing. This bill strengthens notification and consent requirements for sensitive topics—like mental health care, sex education, and disciplinary action—keeping families informed and in control.
✅ School Choice – Signed by the Governor!
With the signing of SB 2, Texas families are finally gaining the freedom to choose the best education for their children. Participating parents will have the opportunity to access Education Savings Accounts with up to $10,000 to put toward a quality school of their choice.

✅ Expanding the Compassionate Use Program – Sent to the Governor!
This session, we took a major step forward in delivering relief to Texans silently suffering from chronic pain. I worked closely with leaders in both the House and Senate on HB 46 to responsibly expand the Texas Compassionate Use Program (TCUP), providing patients with access to safe, medically supervised low-THC treatments—while cracking down on dangerous, unregulated street-level products.
✅ Dementia Prevention – Signed by the Governor!
We’re investing in the health of future generations. The new Dementia Prevention and Research Institute of Texas, established through SB 5, will spearhead efforts to prevent and treat Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and related disorders—positioning Texas as a national leader in medical innovation.
✅ Bail Reform – Signed by the Governor!
With the passage of SB 9 and SB 40, we’ve made it harder for violent offenders to return to our streets. These reforms ensure our courts prioritize public safety and keep dangerous criminals where they belong—behind bars.
Thank you for the opportunity to represent you in the 89th Texas Legislature.
I’ll continue to fight for the values that make Texas strong: faith, freedom, family, and public safety.
