As we continue preparing for the 90th Legislative Session, I have remained busy traveling across the nation to meet with fellow legislators and policy leaders, and staying connected with the people I am honored to represent in House District 130.
The months leading up to the legislative session are an important opportunity to listen, exchange ideas and prepare for the work ahead. Whether at home in our district or alongside policymakers from across the country, I remain focused on finding practical, conservative solutions to the challenges facing Texas families.

Connecting with the Community in House District 130
One of the most important parts of serving in the Texas House is staying connected with the people who call House District 130 home.
On Monday, Aug. 24, I had the opportunity to spend time with constituents, supporters and community members at a wonderful campaign event here in Tomball. I was honored to be joined by my friends, Speaker Dustin Burrows and Senator Paul Bettencourt, as we addressed members of our community and discussed the issues that matter most to Texas families. We were also joined by a number of conservative leaders from across Harris County, and I am grateful for their friendship and continued support. Events like these are a great reminder of the strong community we have here in House District 130 and the importance of staying connected with the people we are privileged to serve.
As we look toward the 90th Legislative Session, conversations with constituents will continue to play an important role in shaping my priorities. From property taxes and homeowners insurance to health care affordability, public safety and economic opportunity, I want to ensure that the work we do in Austin reflects the concerns and priorities of the people of House District 130.
I am grateful to everyone who took the time to attend, share their thoughts and remain engaged in the civic process. Your participation makes our community stronger and helps me better serve you in the Texas House.
Summer Legislative Conferences: ALEC & NCOIL
This summer also provided an opportunity to engage with legislators and policy leaders from across the country through two important legislative organizations: The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and the National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL).
Through my involvement with ALEC, particularly as one of the organizations’ Texas State Chairman, I have had the opportunity to work with legislators from across the nation who are committed to advancing policies rooted in free markets, limited government, individual liberty and federalism. Our July, 2026 conference in Orlando was a productive forum for crafting model conservative policy that I aim to advance here in Texas.
Exchanging ideas with lawmakers from other states allows us to examine policies that are working elsewhere and consider how successful approaches can be adapted to meet the unique needs of Texas. As our state continues to grow, it is important that we remain willing to learn from other states while preserving the principles that have made Texas a conservative powerhouse.
My work with NCOIL is particularly important as Texas continues to address the rising cost of homeowners insurance. In July, I traveled to Boston to discuss these issues with other NCOIL lawmakers. Insurance affordability is a major concern for Texas families, and legislators must continue examining ways to improve resiliency and help ensure that Texans can afford to protect their home and property.
As always, I remain committed to bringing a conservative, Texas-first perspective to these conversations and working toward policies that protect taxpayers, strengthen our economy and preserve the freedoms that make Texas a great state.
