Friends,
After an incredible Legislative Session where we delivered big wins for Texans, my colleagues and I are headed back to the State Capitol to continue the work we started.
The Special Session begins next Monday, and we’ll be focused on advancing key priorities outlined by Governor Greg Abbott. That includes strengthening protections for unborn children, eliminating the STAAR test, and banning taxpayer-funded lobbying.
The Governor has also asked us to address four urgent issues in response to the devastating Hill Country floods:
- Improved flood warning systems
- Upgraded emergency communications
- Relief funding for affected communities
- Stronger disaster preparedness and recovery efforts
I’ll be working hard on all of these agenda items, and I continue to pray for every family, first responder, and volunteer helping the Hill Country recover.
IN THE DISTRICT
It has been a joy to be back in District 130! This month, I attended a luncheon with the Cypress Republicans where we heard from Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick. I appreciate everything that this group does to keep Harris County RED!

I was also blessed to speak on the legislative process at a Greater Tomball Area Pachyderm Club meeting. Thank you all for having me!

Please don’t hesitate to contact me or my staff with any questions or concerns: (281-255-0615) or District130.Oliverson@House.Texas.Gov.
God Bless,
Tom Oliverson, M.D.
Republican State Representative
